QUALITY EDUCATION

Preschoolers Programmeconstruction

In the Preschool programme we offer activities and routines to meet your child’s developmental stage. We teach them basic skills and then work to extend these. We also offer specialised prgrammes like:

  • The Music Programme (for 3 and 4 year olds)

  • The Gym Programme (for 3 & 4 year olds)

  • The ‘School Readiness’ Programme for four and a half year olds

readingWe will maintain an individual portfolio of learning for every child. These portfolios can be accessed by parents and discussed with our staff at any time. We also schedule parent interviews once a year.

We will continue to assist your child with toilet training, and will provide them with 'pull-ups' if this is required.

To provide a safe and quality environment for your child we operate with a ratio of 8 children to 1 adult.

Indoor & Outdoor Playpainting

All children spend at least part of the day participating in indoor activities. There are numerous activities ranging from puzzles, building blocks, reading books, a family corner, interactive computer and video learning. We also have times of ‘messy’ play, for example finger-painting, modelling with clay and collage.

Our Preschoolers outdoor play areas provide an age-appropriate environment for exploration, social development and physical confidence. Traditional play equipment like a fort, moveable boxes and climbing frames, slide, sandpit, and a water trough are provided.

ball playOutdoor safety surfacing is installed under all climbing and play structures. Shade cover provides protection during the summer heat. Furthermore, we provide sunhats and sunblock for all children during the summer months, and woolly hats during the winter months.

The gymnasium in the Church premises is available for use by us as part of our educational programme and for play - this is especially valuable during the wet winter months.

'School Readiness' Programme

school girlAt our Centre we try to ensure that our children have developed appropriate self-help skills by the time they are ready for school. This is why we have developed a specialised ‘School Readiness’ programme for four and a half year olds. This specialised programme fosters group dynamics, responsibility for self and others, literacy, numeracy, and an awareness of interdependence. It extends your child’s social, physical, emotional, and cognitive skills and abilities, so they are better able to cope with school, and the transition period.
