THE CENTRE

Central Childcare is located at 33 Charlemont Street (off Ulster Street), Whitiora, in the Hamilton Central Baptist Church grounds. There is easy access to drop off and pick up your children, with plenty of parking.

The Centre is open from 7:30am till 5:45pm each week day, and offers childcare on an hourly, daily, or weekly (full-time) basis. Casual care is also available, as space allows. 

The Centre is divided into three age groups, each with their own indoor and outdoor areas. We believe that this gives your child a better childcare and education experience (than the traditional two age groups of Under Two's and Over Two's), building an excellent foundation for their life.

• Babies 0-2 years old
• Toddlers 2-3 years old
• Preschoolers 3-5 years old

We offer Free ECE for 3 & 4 year olds.

We operate with a ratio of 1:4 for the Babies, 1:6 for the Toddlers, and 1:8 for the Preschoolers.

We hold two licenses for a maximum of 62 children - 12 Babies, 12-16 Toddlers, and up to 37 Preschoolers.

Along with age appropriate programming, we also offer extra curricular activites like Music, Gym, and a 'School Readiness' programme. We also have access to the gymnasium on site, giving us additional space for those rainy days.

We also like to undertake regular outings and trips (Edgecumbe Park on the boundary of our property gives easy access to short nature walks).

All meals are supplied, as are free nappies as required.

We hold regular family social events and issue a newsletter to keep you up-to-date with Centre happenings.

The Centre is closed on Public Holidays, and parents are notified each year of the opening and closing dates for the Christmas and New Year period.
